--- Comment #12 from Stanislav Brabec 2009-07-10 06:31:40 MDT ---
Well, we have several different crashes. Both are related to sound. Each one
crashes in a different place. Both crashes in a strange place (one in
proprietary OpenGL library, second in glibc while creating thread).
It may be two different problems, but it may indicate some common problem in
pidgin, gstreamer or audio backend.
Questions to Holger Sickenberg:
1. Do you experience any crashes of OpenGL enabled applications?
2. Please now try following:
- move your ~/.gstreamer-0.10 directory somewhere
- run pidgin. Does it crash now?
- not depending on the result of above, remove your ~/.gstreamer-0.10
- run gst-inspect. Does it crash?
- run pidgin. Does it crash now?
- and finally, can you compare files inside ~/.gstreamer-0.10 before and after
this test?
Questions to Maurice Kienenberger:
Please set sound output to Automatic in Pidgin and experiment with the default
sound output in gstreamer-properties. Do all modes crash?
Do you experience crashes, if you uninstall pulseaudio and related packages?
