http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=518416 Summary: Problem with USB ACM device Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: receive-spam@yandex.ru QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=302089) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=302089) Patch for the kernel I've got an AVR programmer which acts like an USB ACM device and is handled by the cdc_acm driver. /dev/ttyACM0 does appear but any attempt to write something to the device with a simple "echo something >/dev/ttyACM0" fails with "Invalid argument" error. This problem has been discussed in LKML (http://groups.google.com/group/linux.kernel/browse_thread/thread/17c2f03367e1d615/5ba5f03e64d9072d?lnk=raot&fwc=1) and fix is available is this thread. I'm attaching patch for the 2.6.27 kernel (also suitable for 2.6.28 thru 2.6.30) which fixes this problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
