Hard to find, at least! Maybe I'm wrong, there's nothing about it in the man nor in zypper help output.
True, it's not there yet, i'll describe it there of course.
I still think the "-v" is not very usefull, I want to see information _before_ start downloading not during/after
You will - installation won't start unless you hit enter. So if you need to see versions, you enter 'v' and you have them. Is i wrote in the blog post, i think most of the users _don't_ want to see the version, and those who care about versions have the view options in the 'Continue?' dialog.
Initializing Target... Loading repository data...
are these usefull imformation ? Maybe for you (as developer) but I dont think that end users (like me) are interessed in this kind of info.
Well, if the operation takes a fraction of a second, then you're not interested of course. But should it take longer (as it sometimes does) you surely want to know what is taking so long.
How summery should be:
default: like now -v: package version -vv: old package->new package (version) and so on..
Does it sounds so strange ?
Not really, i just did not think it would make much sense. But it seems you're right after all (but it was not obvious what you want at the start :O), when -v is used, the summary could show more details right away. How about: -v: show versions (also changes from old -> new) -vv: show all the details (version, arch, repo, vendor) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
