http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=517112 Summary: HDMI Audio Support Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: andrew@joako.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060200 SUSE/3.0.11-0.1.1 Firefox/3.0.11 Out-of-the-box HDMI audio does not work. The card is detected but there is no audio output, creating /etc/asound.conf with the following corrects the issue: pcm.!default { type plug slave { pcm "hw:0,3" format S16_LE } } However, this causes issues because ALSA does not create a "mixer" many application expect a "mixer" be present and thus fail to playback or even crash because it is missing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use system only with HDMI audio Actual Results: Audio in WINE does not work at all. Kaffine and VLC can not playback even videos. MPlayer constantly flashes a message complaining about the mixer. Expected Results: Audio via HDMI should work the same as a "normal"soundcard. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
