http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=510746 Summary: Mount of new disks fails - mount does not work anymore as it did in all linux's prior to opensuse 11.1 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: larry.linder@micro-controls.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.10 (X11; Linux i686; U; en) This is a large engineering desktop system using ULTRA SCSI 320 controlel. When is setup from custom menu and partition disk space for OS that is needed and then I select install the sysem install the default and ignores my "fstab" To get around this I unplugged the /engr file system from controller ( contains 11 years of drawing, designs and patent data). I let it install on two spare disks. It ignores SDA1 and tries to put OS on SDB1. Once system is running I though I would mount /engr file system in convential manner suing "mount" and when I looked into the new fstab I noticed that there was what looked like an address attached to device description. The man maount and you got traditional page and nothing worked. Once opensuse 11.1 was operational there was not a scheme to mount /engr disks as I was able to do in opensuse 10.3. Developers should never queer up existing functions. As a result Opensuse is worthless to us. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to mount other file sytems using mount 2. 3. Actual Results: "mount" error and how to list Expected Results: should be able to mount other FS's and then modify fstab to make them mount on boot up. Opensuse has become unusable due to fundamental blunders. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
