http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=510015 Summary: xorg.conf and also changing it during installation no longer required Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: aschnell@novell.com ReportedBy: sndirsch@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com CC: eich@novell.com, mhopf@novell.com, snwint@novell.com Found By: --- Luckily beginning with openSUSE 11.2 the config file /etc/X11/xorg.conf, which we used in the past for installation, is no longer required. Of course the script parts which changed it in the past are no longer required either, i.e. needs to be removed as well. Requirement for working mouse/keyboard: hald running. Assigning this one to Arvin to do the appropriate changes. Adding Steffen to Cc. I think he's packaging the sample xorg.conf. Reminder for X team: If /dev/fb0 doesn't exist, i.e kernel framebuffer not available, Xorg must not fail, but instead use vesa driver. The driver fallback order is already fixed. First try fbdev, then vesa. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
