http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=505201 Summary: OBS up to date check is very slow when checking in big files with low bandwidth Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: BuildService AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: PVince81@yahoo.fr QAContact: adrian@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042700 SUSE/3.0.10-2.1 Firefox/3.0.10 The up to date check done by "osc ci" seems to be even slower than the actual upload, when trying to upload big files (about 8MB) on a low bandwith (512 kbps down/128 kbps up) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new OBS package. 2. Check out the OBS package to a local workspace. 3. Copy package source files, where the source archive itself is very big (in my case it was about 8MB). 4. osc add source_archive.tar.bz2 5. osc ci 6. Enter checkin message 7. Files are uploaded. Actual Results: Step 5 (up to date check) takes even more time than that step 7. Expected Results: Step 5 very quick. Up to date check must be optimized. I have a slow internet connection, (512 Kbps down/128 kbps up). The up to date check should be more optimized. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
