http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=504036 Summary: Wacom tablet PC (HP 2710p) is uncalibrated Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: seldmail@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- In openSUSE 11.0 after wacom tablet in HP 2710p worked fine after turning it on via SaX2. Sometimes it became uncalibrated (or somehow shifted) when rotation was used (XRandR). In openSUSE 11.1 after turning tablet function on it is uncalibrated and thus not usable at all, unless it is calibrated (at first I thought, that tablet is not working at all). Awkward warkaround: I took some calibration data from openSUSE 11.0, then added it to the script, which is executed on login to desktop environment. I don't know what those numbers mean, but commands with these values make tablet usable: xsetwacom set Mouse[3] BottomX 26312 xsetwacom set Mouse[3] BottomY 16520 xsetwacom set Mouse[5] BottomX 26309 xsetwacom set Mouse[5] BottomY 16568 xsetwacom set Mouse[7] BottomX 26309 xsetwacom set Mouse[7] BottomY 16568 xsetwacom set Mouse[3] TopX 0 xsetwacom set Mouse[3] TopY 0 xsetwacom set Mouse[5] TopX 34 xsetwacom set Mouse[5] TopY 22 xsetwacom set Mouse[7] TopX 34 xsetwacom set Mouse[7] TopY 22 However, even with this workaround, when XRandR rotation is set to 270 or 90 degree state sometimes it is calibrated normally and sometimes not: mouse becomes far from the actual position of stylus (calibration data from openSUSE 11.0 for 270 and 90 degree states appears to be invalid in openSUSE 11.1, so I guess I have to get it from some other place). To overcome this I try to rotate back to 0 degrees position, for which calibration data works, and then switch back to desired 270 or 90 state (second attempt is usually succesfull), but trying to click on the icon, which calls a script, is very hard with with untuned tablet. Combine that with non-working hardware keyboard bug (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=504033) and using tablet PC becomes kind of a quest. The other problem is untuned tablet in KDM mode: it's hard to login only with stylus without using hardware keyboard. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
