http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=497543 Summary: openSUSE doesn't run properly on Asus x50gl notebook Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: nv_yo@mail.bg QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1) ; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729) When you try to shut down the system, it freezes and won't power off. Wi-fi and bluetooth leds are always on(though this particular model doen't have bluetooth). Fn keys do not work. Graphics card is not recognised, no proper drivers are loaded. Asus have posted on their download page the source code for their free simple OS - ExpressGate; it's linux-based and works perfectly on x50gl; I wonder if some of thier code could be used to fix those issues. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openSuse 11.1 on Asus X50GL notebook 2. Boot to it 3. Check Fn keys functionality, wi-fi/bluetooth leds, graphic card; try to power off Actual Results: OS has limited/no support of those features Expected Results: OS should work properly - bluetooth led should be off, wi-fi led should switch on/off properly, Fn keys should work, graphics card should be recognised, system should power off properly -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
