First
This is NOT an issue with KDE - Since V10.0 of opensuse KDE Has always created
a menu item that included a File Manager in Root Mode.
KDE has always offer this menu item off system -
Second - Apart from product continuity goes in 1.
We are saving the user from Nothing in a default installation as they have the
root password and can do anything - Therefore there is no logic in *NOT*
providing a product consistent, menu item.
Thirdly.
Easy escalation from user to root to perform basic File and Directory
Maintenance above /home,
Easy escalation from user to root to perform to work on any file and directory
that requires any change to or add file and directory permissions above /home
OR to any other file non owned by the logged in user,
Easy escalation from user to root to perform creation of data CD/DVD Burn using
Gnome CD/DVD Creator
Easy escalation from user to root to perform file and directory maintenance to
the users /home directory
Easy escalation from user to root without logging out and loging in as root,
Finally
Easy escalation from user to root to remove the requirement of an admin to use
a console; constant with product and Interface Design
For example
Yast is the admins Interface Design vehicle to permit them not having to use
the console.
