Hmmmm...
1.) Have a dual-bootable machine. Win Media Center and SuSE Linux.
2.) Have two 300GB HDs, one DVD-RW, one DVD-ROM, one USB Zip Drive.
3.) Partitioned the 1st or "main" drive between Windows(C:147GB E:10) and
SuSE(118GB) for operations.
4.) Partitioned the 2nd drive to be "mostly NTFS(D:264GB)" and a small
FAT(L:16GB).
5.) Running VMware (Win2k-4GB, WinVista 5GB, OpenSuSE-test 5GB)
==================================================================
Win Drive D: Like to have "Drive" Symbol on Desktop that I can 'click' on and
open the drive contents for display in a Window/Folder.
Win Drive L: ditto
Zip Drive : ditto.
==================================================================
In KDE3.5 and previous, I could create a link to a drive or partition that I
wanted handy on the desktop. It would have the "Gear" device Icon and I changed
it to an HD with Win logo flags. In KDE4 I changed the Icon in the properties
and it showed ... in the properties ... but on the Desktop it remained a Gear.
==================================================================
But alas all this is a mute point now. In KDE4 I can not even create a link to
my drives or Partitions on the Desktop. Something has changed in the latest
4.2. When I 'right click' on the Desktop I am not even offered a chance to
install a click-able link on the Desktop to any of my drives. I guess that is
not kosher anymore.
So this can be closed.
