My Apologies for having this same bug open in different versions of opensuse. I
was mistakenly under the impression that we sometimes re-master a release
product
.
Lets both get back on track - As you know a GUI NFS Installation only requests
2 variables.
1. The IP of the NFS Server
2. The exported directory of the NFS Server.
Without any DHCP Services being offered on the LAN it fails to a text
installation.
The Bug at hand is that we have created an NFS Installation that is reliant on
many things, the lest of which are DHCP Services on the LAN.
To fix this bug we only need to provide a NFS GUI with 2 new variables.
1. IP of this PC
2. IP of DNS Servers.
These additional fields need only appear at time of boot where the Installation
PC requests DHCP.
So in the following order may I suggest
1. After boot of NFS Installation PC if it fails in its DHCP allocation
THEN
2. We provide the 2 additional Fields in this comment.
With respect to bug 329668 I thinks its solution would be an additional Option
check-box 'Advanced Options' on the NFS Installation IP that when checked only
offers via GUI, the most commonly used parameters that are available only via
text installation - certainly not all of them as the text installation offers a
huge variety of almost any possible scenario.
Please re-instate NEEDINFO - If you have be unable to produce this bug title
and I give you logs to support it ;-)
