https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=471369 Summary: Update Phase on 3.5 KDE Installation creates an 'Unresolvable Update Conflict' Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: alpha096@virginbroadband.com.au QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-0.1 Firefox/3.0.5 In an X_64 Installation an unresolvable conflict is present If I select the following Circumstances: 1. Do NOT select automatic Installation 2. Select additional Software being 'File Server','Miscellaneous Server','Network Administration' Groups 3. Proceed with defaults 4. Run First online update 5. In second online update the conflict is presented as there is an issue with Samba Winbind - User needs to un-install this component to proceed or Ignore. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1 2. 3. Expected Results: I would expect a default selection of the above and online update to not issues a conflict in updating the installation. The error above is 100% reproducible in an X_64 Installation and selecting the default groups as above and NOT using an Automated Installation/Configuration. In fact I am not sure of the repercussions of using an Automated Installation where errors are presented for user intervention - My gut is that the Installation may fall over as I do not think we currently present error levels to the user in the Automated Installation of Software -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
