mh, ok - maybe it`s quite usable for many things, but users may have wrong
expectations and hitting this problem may bring them or their server(s) into
severe trouble.
think of an admin who tries fusecompress and says "hooray, that`s what i always
searched for" and then he makes the userhomes fusecompressed. guess what will
happen if that is a server with 100 home directories....
i was working with this project for quite some time and when coming across
this, i was so severly disappointed that i quit using fusecompress and looking
for more sophisticated approach.
i`d recommend adding some hints/warning signs at an appropriate place, that
there is this severe limitation with fusecompress
what about printing some hint "please read /usr/share/fusecompress/LIMITATIONS
before first usage", i.e. when doing the fusecompress mount ?
this could be handled intelligently and only being printed once (2,3...) , as
you could touch a hidden file into the fusecompress mountpoint as a marker.
