--- Comment #31 from Dave Plater 2009-01-16 02:09:41 MST ---
As far as the /dev/sr0 error messages, I received the same messages on tty10
with the previously broken kernels prior to the oops but with the working
kernels I don't get any errors, the burn process completes silently. I'm using
the same CDRW for every test. I erase it and then burn a damn small linux
image. One difference with the 7-4.4 kernel is previously the burn process
would complete ie. the cd was burned/erased after recovery from the the oops
but with the 7-4.4 kernel the crash seems to happen as the write process
happens and the cd is in the same state as it was before.
I frequently use the DVD unit to burn cheap dvds with 100% success while I am
performing other tasks with a visible slowdown of disk access which is to be
expected.

I'm trying to use crash on the kdump output but don't seem to be able to get it
to recognise the data. I've tried the man pages but can't get any usable info.
Any tips or links to tutorials?
