When you are doing a clean installation, there is no section before which you
can rename - the whole bootloader setup, incuding all sections, is created
anew. YaST does not look for previous bootloader configuration - it may be
pretty outdated and it would lead to many trouble.
You write 'When making a clean installation or upgrading to openSUSE
11.0/11.1', what exactly do you mean? Clean installation (which means that we
can hardly do anything about this bug) or upgrade (here the name shold be
preserved)? (regarding bootloader configuration, those are two completly
different processes) Can you attach the installation/update logs?
