I have the following workaround for this: --- /etc/init.d/alsasound 2007-08-27 22:24:34.000000000 +0200 +++ /tmp/alsasound 2008-01-14 10:32:20.000000000 +0100 @@ -158,10 +158,12 @@ # fuser -k /dev/admmidi* /dev/adsp* /dev/amidi* /dev/audio* /dev/dmfm* \ /dev/dmmidi* /dev/dsp* /dev/dspW* /dev/midi* /dev/mixer* /dev/music \ - /dev/patmgr* /dev/sequencer* /dev/sndstat >/dev/null 2>&1 + /dev/patmgr* /dev/sequencer* /dev/sndstat >/dev/null 2>&1 & + sleep 3 if [ -d /dev/snd ]; then - fuser -k /dev/snd/* >/dev/null 2>&1 + fuser -k /dev/snd/* >/dev/null 2>&1 & fi + sleep 3 Do you notice the _&_ at the end of fuser? The problem is: fuser -k hangs somehow and the system does not reboot.
