The problem mentioned in e.g. comment #23 is of different nature:
In case of ppp, the settings are provided to the NetworkManager via the nm-pppd-plugin to the network manager.
This is new in 11.1, right? I used to work with networkmanager for ethX and ppp, e.g. kinternet, before, and it worked just fine. So this change should be included in the release notes. Which package provides nm-pppd-plugin? A zypper search does give no result.
