https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=463335 Summary: yast2 not allowing to start subwindow when triggerd via su as user from within a terminal program Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dieter.jurzitza@t-online.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- When entering su and becoming superuser within a terminal (i.e. xterm) and starting the graphical yast2 (what works as expected) yast2 does not start submenues, i. e. I can start yast2, the corresponding window pops up but any submenu that would be started via any of the icons in the yast2 window is apparently without function. The sandwatch is turning around for a while but nothing happens afterwards. This seems to be some kind of permission issue because: - it does not happen in kde 3.5, - it does not happen when logged in as root. - it does not happen when starting yast2 from ALT-F2 and becoming a superuser. in any case the DISPLAY-variable is set to :0.0 what seems correct within the terminal window. I tested both xterm and the terminal from within the menu on the menu bar. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
