Invoking it from the menu starts the UI but it is completely unresponsive and has to be killed. Checking out the command line issued in main menu reveals: banshee-1 --redirect-log --play-enqueued %U Invoking it from a terminal without parameters works fine. Adding --redirect-log makes it hang. Alas no further helpful information is available.
