https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=450879 Summary: Xen installation from ISO's files Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: claudiu@virtuamagic.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- All my virtual machines installed on a openSUSE 11.0 x64 dom0 are configured as the following: swap: /dev/virtual/swappart1 as xvda1 disk: /dev/virtual/part2 as xvda2 Where, virtual it's a volume, swappart1 and part2 are logical partitions. I want this kind of configuration. But the YaST installer doesn't recognize this kind of setup. It expects an *partitioned* hard disk (even virtual) to read the partitions from in order to know what to do and where to install. I can't use dirinstall since I want 32bit xenpae machines inside that x64 dom0. Maybe it would be nice that the user can specify what block devices to be used as individual partitions for install. I activated shell before YaST, checked the /dev directory and the xvda1 and xvda2 are present. Even I symlinked them as sda1 and sda2. But the installer wants only a partitioned hard disk, not individual partitions. Even more, I couldn't use the Expert option "Read the partition from previous /etc/fstab", since the squashfs it's read only and /etc resides on that read-only partition, and I could edit fstab in order to place those virtual disks inside it. Is there a workaround? Or maybe will be implemented in the future? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
