OK,
I've got a bonus as well. I have the hwinfo --gfxcard from both the 11.0
and 11.1B5 installs on the same machine. First 11.1B5:

Hopefully, we can get the install to configure the 'nv' driver for nvidia
cards and the 'radeon' driver for AMD/ATI by default during the install. I
pulled my hair out for 20-30 minutes trying to get 11.1B5 readable before I
switched the xorg.conf device from 'fbdev' to 'nv'. It made all the difference
in the world. It really was like somebody waiving a magic wand and instantly
curing all the display ugliness, the resolution problem, the font problems, the
login display, wallpaper and screen saver problems all at once.
This would be a huge help to a whole lot of people that don't think in
terms of manually editing their xorg.conf to change device drivers. I think it
would probably eliminate 10-20% or all complaints, list traffic and bug reports
in one fell swoop.
Good luck and God's speed Stefan! Let me know if you want anything else.
