https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=443275 Summary: LiveCD does not start Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta4 Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium AssignedTo: coolo@novell.com ReportedBy: ufuknews@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I am having problem loading the liveCD. Just downloaded Beta 4 gnome CD, burned the image and restarted the machine (of which the specifications are given below. This has not been the only time I am having this problem. I have had the same problem with the other Beta releases with the same machine and an 4 or 5 year old Vaio laptop. Tried couple of solutions I have read on the net such as using the boot options hwprobe=-parallel,-misc.par -modules.pata. This did not help at all. Can you point me in the right direction as to how I would manage to TRY whether 11.1 work on my machine. I haven't downloaded DVD installer of openSUSE 11.1 since my university does not allow torrents. I have tried openSUSE 11.0 and failed to install that (can't remember the errors). When using the livecd it comes to a point where I see the following info on the screen when everything stops working. Loading device nodes with udev .. probing module: ehci-hcd Waiting for CD/DVD device(s) to appear...
