https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=443103 Summary: ThinkPad R61 touchpad working incorrectly Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: shadewind@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Community User I have a Lenovo ThinkPad R61 laptop with an ALPS touchpad and a trackpoint as well. On a newly installed openSUSE 11.0 installation the touchpad does not work correctly. The responsiveness is very poor and it lags and gets stuck all the time. openSUSE detects three different mice using the same device file (/dev/input/mice) for all of them. Two of the mice are detected as ALPS touchpads (Synaptics driver) and one of them as a generic Explorer mouse. Of course, the computer has only two mice so I removed one of the ALPS configurations. This does not solve the problem though. I did manage to solve the problem by configuring the Explorer mouse (which would be the Trackpoint I suppose) to use the /dev/input/mouse0 device (I think it works in any case if just one of the devices uses a different device file) so I suggest that openSUSE should use different device files for these devices automatically. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
