Nothing obviously wrong found in configuration and logfiles besides
(WW) intel(0): Existing errors found in hardware state.
which on some machines in some conditions means that you better reboot your
machine. :-( But it seems that on this machine you always get this warning,
so I don't think rebooting will help. I didn't see such issues on the 855GM
I've tested yesterday.
Could you login on Linux text console and start a simple Xsession like this?
export DISPLAY=:0.0
X & sleep 3; twm & xterm
Is it usable, i.e. can you move the xterm around, start new programs, etc.?
