Hi Ken,
You mean you can use your keyboard again when you click somewhere? I can't.
I've tried different focus policies, it doesn't depend on that, either. Once I
"lost" my keyboard, the only way to get OO.o to accept key strokes again is to
restart it. All other X apps certainly don't suffer that fate - changing focus
there and I can use my keyboard, but not when I go back to OO.o.
However, I found out something more: This is related to using scim, i.e. I've
scim installed, and XMODIFIERS="@im=SCIM". If I unset XMODIFIERS and start
OpenOffice.org, things are ok.
So this depends on using scim. The workaround is then quite trivial: Change the
/usr/bin/oo* startup scripts to unset XMODIFIERS before starting soffice.bin,
and the bug doesn't appear. This certainly loses important functionality if you
want to enter text in foreign languages.
I've now checked with other dialog boxes, and it looks like all of them are
affected the same way.
