Yes, I see that problem since KOTD 2.6.27-HEAD_20081010035644 x86_64
selfcompiled from sources with default configuration ( there are no current
binary kernel default rpms available). The initrd file created by mkinitrd
looks okay to me, too.
I did another experiment to check the initrd. I just changed grub configuration
for 2.6.27-HEAD_20081010035644 to load the initrd of rc9-HEAD_20081009181916,
which works with the matching kernel. That shows also the problem of not being
able to start init.And not, as I would expect if the problem was a corrupted
initrd file, only problems to load the modules. I think, that means the initrd
gets corrupted either when it is loaded into memory or when it's allready in
memory.
