ping and nslookup itself use all available nameservers from /etc/resolv.conf.
As you can see 192.168.0.1 (your router?) can't resolv download.opensuse.org
but 194.179.1.100 (your internet provider's nameserver?) can give the answer.
zypper uses curl for the internet access. Guess curl uses the first nameserver
in /etc/resolv.conf and that fails.
First remove the "nameserver 192.168.0.1" line from /etc/resolv.conf. I think
zypper will then be able to resolve hostnames.
Second check /etc/resolv.conf on your other machines. If the "wrong" line
exists there too then older versions of zypper/curl could handle this and this
bug seems to be valid.
If the line don't exist add it to resolv.conf and test zypper. If it fails this
bug could be an enhancement.
If the line exists on your beta1 machine only check your network config,
especially the dhcp/dns part.
And check the router/machine with ip address 192.168.0.1. Maybe the line in
resolv.conf is valid and the dns config on 192.168.0.1 is scrambled.
