Oh yes I am seeing it under vmware!! Since March I have had a ticket in with
Vmware with SLES10SP1 and SP2 exhibiting these behaviors when vmtools balloons
memory under tight memory conditions.
I am going crazy with this.
I have a test vm now that I can duplicate this with 100%.
Vmware says it is fixed in a brand new kernel that SLES does not even support.
But I have my doubts if it is fixed.
I would love to talk to you on the phone so I can tell what all I have found,
when it happens, give you some log files, etc.
My phone is 404-413-4438. My cell phone is 678-901-4099--please feel free to
call me there if I do not answer at work. I am assuming you can get my email of
this ticket---if not it is jeff@gsu.edu
It has been agonizing working with Vmware on this. If what they say is true,
that means that currently SLES cannot be considered supported with Vmware. I
have told Vmware this as well.
Perhaps since I have a test vm in a pool with the right memory conditions
defined and can reproduce it in about a day, this may help you find the issue
faster.
Thanks!
