0x31a is 1280x1024@16bpp. Of course this doesn't work on a lot of machines
(mainly laptops using 1024x768/1280x800 as resolution). YaST2 installation has
been specified to work on 800x600 (which is good as we see this standard
resolution of 1024x600 netbooks now). Any monitor can display this resolution.
With using vga=normal you force the use of vesa driver instead of fbdev
and you run in all kind of problems like
- monitor not detected or with wrong hsync/vsync values ==> more or less
random resolution with vesa driver (this bug)
And it's me, who needs to suffer from all these issues. :-( Could you do me a
favor, and give "vga=0x114" at least a try? It would be really appreciated.
Thanks.
