https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=409174 Summary: yast does not work properly in default size terminal window Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: R.Vickers@cs.rhul.ac.uk QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- If you start yast in a terminal window of size 24x80 (which seems to be the default for many terminal emulation programs) then some Yast options are invisible, and there is no indication that any options are missing. To demonstrate this type xterm -geometry 80x24 su - yast then select Network Devices/Network settings. If you expand the window slightly (i.e. more than 24 lines) then the global options become visible, but you would be unlikely to guess this from the smaller screen. Of course there are many workrounds but it is very confusing before you discover what is happening. It would be unreasonable to expect you to test all possible terminal sizes, but 24x80 has a long tradition (from DEC VT100 days) and I suspect it is widely used. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
