https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=404992 Summary: Updating kernel on dual-boot corrupts GRUB menu Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: p1rpp@yahoo.co.uk QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Customer Created an attachment (id=225082) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=225082) support.txt from YAST2 bug report My system is dual-boot with 32-bit and 64-bit SUSE 10.2 on separate root partitions. The GRUB menu is in the 64-bit partition. Whenever I install an update to the 64-bit kernel using Yast2 Online Update, the GRUB menu entry for the 32-bit partition gets corrupted, either pointing to the wrong partition or deleted altogether. It looks as if the updater is searching for and updating GRUB menu entries containing the superseded kernel version, but it does not check that the root partition of a menu entry is the one in which it has installed a new kernel. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
