https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=401270 Summary: yast2-ldap configuration SLP scan doesn't warn on closed firewall port Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: RC 3 Platform: 64bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: jsuchome@novell.com ReportedBy: jcborn@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- I installed 11.0 RC3 today and wanted to try out LDAP authentication. Knowing no ldap server, I just tried "Browse". As a result, an empty box appeared with "OK" and "cancel" buttons but no content. No idea what happened. The solutin was simple -- turn off firewall as described in http://en.opensuse.org/Howto_LDAP_userAuth Then the SLP scan finds a list of machines offering LDAP. I remember that in some other module (don't ask) there is a warning: "Scan failed. Maybe firewall port closed. Try again with firewall off" (I think this was in the online update source configuration). Would be nice to have this here too imho. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
