I tried vga=0x122 on i815 and the console video seems good. I also tried mga
with 0x30a on same system and got 43 rows that stayed 43 rows, but also only
used about 3/4 of the vertical screen space to do it.
However, the boots with attachment 221985 in place and using 0x122 or 0x30a
take much longer than normal, and leave me with no (e100) eth0. Restoring the
original startpar restores eth0 function and boot speed. What could be that
relationship? BIOS shows eth0 shares IRQ7 with AGP, but /proc/interrupts shows
eth0 on INT16, AGP using no interrupt, and INT7 not used. Only vga=, root=,
noresume, splash= & 3 on cmdline. Kernel currently 2.6.25.4-6-pae, which I'm
about to change now since testing this.
