https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=400062 Summary: grub failed to be installed on openSUSE 11.0 RC1 Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Booting AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: internux@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Other I tried to boot openSUSE 11.0 RC1 X86-64 Live CD (KDE) on my HP Compaq Presario V3736TU and it was working nice. I tried to install it by clicking "install", and installation works fine. After it is rebooted, unfortunately, the GRUB is not installed. Booting failed with "no operating system found" error message. I have tried to install it twice, and it was failed twice also, with the same error message. So, I boot again with the CD, select "rescue", and do the following: type "grub" type "root (hd0,2)" then "setup (hd0)" After that, openSUSE 11.0 RC1 is working well. Pleas help us to make sure that the grub is automatically installed while we install it.
