https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=398752 Summary: kernel add wpa capapable orinoco driver Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: casualprogrammer@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Owning a Sony Vaio PCG-SRX51P with built in ORiNOCO mini pci wireless card, I ( as well as many others ) have been frustrated by not being available to book into wpa protected networks under Linux. As it appears some people from the Ubuntu community have managed to make the wpa capable driver posted by Agere on their website to compile with newer kernels. I have downloaded it from http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=304217&page=10 and compiled it with the current kernel (2.6.25.4-10-pae). The resulting module works nice with ifup and it should be no major issue to make NM work with it too. I suggest adding the driver to the kernel drivers and distribute it with the kernel packages. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
