None of your suggestions worked but I'm not sure if I tested them properly. What I've done: sax2 -r then saved _without_ testing so I've got config for radeonhd
Then I added option to xorg.conf and started: sax2
No, not again sax2. It would use another xorg.conf for starting the Xserver and overwrite your changes again. Just use the command 'X' for testing. Press Ctrl-Alt-BS twice to terminate the test mode.
Meanwhile: Could you instruct me how to get framebuffer working with my native screen resolution? I'm little bit lost with the whole issue.
'sax2 -r -m 0=fbdev'. sax2 will offer the resolutions, which are provided by your VESA BIOS, which not necessarily include the native resolution of your monitor.
PS. When I start openSUSE in safe mode then my screen resolution is 1280x1024. I've always expected safe mode to be limited in functionality.
This is the installation mode now. In your case apparently fbdev in 1280x1024. So failsafe mode is no longer text mode since openSUSE 11.0. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
