The semantics of patterns was radically changed with the 11.0 libzypp:
Patterns are no longer zypp objects in their own right with a status that can
be "installed" or "delete" etc.; rather, a pattern is now regarded as just a
collection of dependencies that can be satisfied. Setting a pattern to
"install" does little more than propagate that "install" status to the packages
it requires and to those it recommends (but only those that can be set to
"install" without any dependency problem).
So, if everything a pattern requires is installed, it is regarded as
"satisfied" which is a pattern's counterpart to "is installed". AFAIK there is
some exception treatment for patterns that only have "recommended" packages and
no "required" packages to avoid always displaying them as "satisfied". But
strictly speaking, they are already satisfied.
