https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=392527 Summary: unable to eject dvd drive Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: PowerPC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE3 AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: olh@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- it happend often during 11.0 beta cycle, that a dvd that is already in the drive during login, can not be ejected with the keyboard eject button. There is just a simple popup that eject failed. Today I looked a bit closer and tried to eject it manually. eject /dev/hda failed because the binary has weird permissions. -rwsr-x--- 1 root audio 23192 17. Mai 02:51 /bin/eject* /dev/hda has these permissions: brw-rw----+ 1 root disk 3, 0 20. Mai 10:58 /dev/hda getfacl: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names # file: dev/hda # owner: root # group: disk user::rw- user:olaf:rw- group::r-- mask::rw- other::--- uid=90(olaf) gid=100(users) groups=100(users),16(dialout),33(video) a 'sudo chmod o+rx /bin/eject' did fix the keyboard eject button and I was finally able to get the media out of the try. I'm not sure what other info I need to provide. It happens also with a fresh beta3 install, but only sometimes for some reason. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
