https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=391363 Summary: /etc/bash.bashrc: when ssh-connected to server, the title bar of x-term is not updated Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: kleist@postkiosk.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other When connected to a server via ssh, $DISPLAY is typically unset. Hence the following lines in "/etc/bash.bashrc" ... _u="\u@\h" _p=">" if test \( "$TERM" = "xterm" -o "${TERM#screen}" != "$TERM" \) \ -a -z "$EMACS" -a -z "$MC_SID" -a -n "$DISPLAY" then _t="\$(ppwd \l)" fi .. make _t empty, and PS1 will not make ppwd() update the titlebar of an xterm compatible terminal window (such as gnome-terminal). This is easy to work around in the server's "/etc/bash.bashrc.local" ... PS1="\$(ppwd \l)$PS1" .. but it would be handy if it worked out-of-the-box. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
