https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=389075 Summary: on tabletpc, if kdm autologin is on, xvkbd is not stopped after login Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: woelfel@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other I run opensuse 10.3 on a tablet PC (Thinkpad X61). Opensuse automatically detected this and starts xvkbd together with kdm (very useful - users can use it to type the password). However, if autologin is on (e.g., in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager DISPLAYMANAGER_AUTOLOGIN is set to a valid username) xvkbd is not shut down after login. Since xvkbd is run by "root", a regular user cannot shut xvkbd down without providing the root password. This is different if autologin is not on and users log in "manually". In this case, xvkbd is stopped after login. This bug makes the autologin feature useless on tablet PCs. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
