When I read the subject, I thought "Yikes, no! We can't silently suppress error
messages!". But in the case of that "need additional packages" scenario it
actually makes sense to me.
OTOH since all those setup workflows require some manual intervention, what is
the benefit of such a timeout? You have to stay on the machine anyway and enter
some more data or at least confirm some proposed setup.
The second part of this I see mostly like a "read my mind and just do it right"
option. ;-) While we would all like to have that, it appears not to be so
simple. Also, it's not as if anything you configure with YaST2 would take so
long that such behaviour would make a lot of sense; you start some
configuration module, you enter some data or accept some default settings, and
then the changes are written to the system. The final write step is where
errors would occur, and that's not something that typcially takes so long that
it would make sense to do that kind of error collection and the subsequent
complicated handling this would require.
Stano, any more comments?
