https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=382323 Summary: VMWare Workstation: vmware-config gcc mismatch error and won't build Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Beta 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: pth@novell.com ReportedBy: willem@neteyes.nl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Running vmware-config I'm getting an error indication a gcc mismatch : -- Using compiler "/usr/bin/gcc". Use environment variable CC to override. Your kernel was built with "gcc" version "4.3.1", while you are trying to use "/usr/bin/gcc" version "4.3". This configuration is not recommended and VMware Workstation may crash if you'll continue. Please try to use exactly same compiler as one used for building your kernel. Do you want to go with compiler "/usr/bin/gcc" version "4.3" anyway? [no] -- Forcing results in many ' error: implicit declaration of function xxx ' messages and the buidling of vmmon aborts (see included vmware-config-output.txt) Also installing the VMWare Workstation version 6.0.3 (32 bit) RPM does install but closing YaST an error appears (included YaST logfile) Anyway to debug or fix this? Cheers, Wj P.s. I saw the 2.6.25 (final) is in factory? Will try updating tonight. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
