This is the same for --protocol=inet6, and --inet6. The output in all three cases is identical as below: dhcp-144:~:20$ netstat -an -A inet6 Active Internet connections (servers and established) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State tcp 0 0 :::22 :::* LISTEN tcp 0 0 ::1:631 :::* LISTEN tcp 0 0 ::1:25 :::* LISTEN tcp 0 0 192.168.0.244:22 192.168.0.5:55087 ESTABLISHED udp 0 0 :::123 :::* (ipv4 address substituted for an rfc1918 address as this bugzilla is open). Unless I'm mistaken, the ssh connection from 192.168.0.5 is not in the AF_INET6 protocol family.
