You see that there are differences in font size between different
fonts at the same nominal point size (10.5 point in my screenshot).
That is a design feature of the fonts.
“DejaVu Serif” is a bit on the large side.
“Thorndale AMT” and “Nimbus Roman No9 L” and “Liberation Serif” are
designed to be compatible replacements for Microsoft’s “Times New
Roman” which is in turn designed to be compatible with Linotype’s
“Times”. I.e. all these fonts are supposed to have exactly the same
metrics, which also means the same size at the same point size.
Therefore, “Thorndale AMT” behaves just as it is designed to, i.e.
this is not a bug.
