https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=371541 Summary: Creating a shared directory needs to be made more user friendly. Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bob_l_lewis@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Created an attachment (id=202326) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=202326) Shows what Ubuntu does when SAMBA is turned on and a shared directory is being created. When I try to create a shared directory in SUSE 10.3 I find that all the fields are grayed out to accomplish this task and no hint how to proceed is given. I did not have SAMBA installed and/or turned on at the time which accounts for this behavior. Once I turned Samba on then these issues went away. However, when I try this on UBUNTU, creating a shared directory, the prompts and actions to take make it more intuitive and as such Ubuntu supplies substantive help for this operation missing in SUSE. Please see attachment from Ubuntu to better understand what I am writing about. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
