Upon further investigation it becomes clear that simply the name lookups do not work. The interface is setup and working, the right nameserver are configured but for some reason no name lookup gets an answer. Pinging hosts inside and outside the SUSE network works fine as long as i use the ip adress instead of the host name (pinging the nameserver ip of course also works). I turned of the firewall but it seems not to be the cause. I'm using network manager. Also this is ITO work for me, so I will not be able to do repeated installs for debugging purposes.
