https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=366950 Summary: "which" to report real executables first Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Alpha 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: mkoenig@novell.com ReportedBy: svollath@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Component Test Running e.g. "which sed" returns "/usr/bin/sed", which is a symlink to /bin/sed. That's not really nice - it would be best, if which reports the real executable file in the first place. Current behaviour: # which sed /usr/bin/sed # which -a sed /usr/bin/sed /bin/sed /usr/bin/X11/sed # file /usr/bin/sed /usr/bin/sed: symbolic link to `/bin/sed' # file /bin/sed /bin/sed: ELF 32-bit MSB executable, PowerPC or cisco 4500, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.4, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
