I modified this value to 10% and I was able to create a raw image of size < 512
MB.
The initial deployment went fine. But now I have hit another problem in the 2nd
stage of deployment.
In this stage, the size for various partitions are calculated. Here I see the
following partition sizes
partition1 (kiwiboot) = 31M
partition2 (ro) = 376
partition3 (rw) = 101
The total comes to 508 MB which leaves us with only 4 MB. Now the installer
tries allocate space for SWAP. It tries to allocate 1008 MB or 50MB whichever
is less and falls short by 46 MB. So the image deployment fails in the 2nd
stage.
The "ro" image size is actually 341 MB but the partition created is 25 MB
greater in size. This space is wasted since its a read-only partition.
Also, is there a way to control the size of the "rw" partition as well as the
SWAP partition.
I have defined the partitions in my config.xml but its seems that this is not
effective.
Here's an extract from my config.xml
<deploy blocksize="65464">
<timeout>0</timeout>
<partitions device="/dev/hda">
<partition number="1" type="swap" size="30"/>
<partition number="2" type="L" size="image" mountpoint="/"
target="true"/>
<partition number="3" type="L" target="false"/>
</partitions>
</deploy>
