https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=355697 Summary: middlemouse.contentLoadURL should be defaulted to "false" Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ajorgensen@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- This lovely firefox feature inadvertently submits your paste buffer as a query to google when you miss the link you were trying to middle-click on. Middle-click on a link, as you know, opens the link in a new tab, so it's an often-used feature. Defaulting middlemouse.contentLoadURL to false fixes this bad behaviour. There are many situations were this behavior could be very bad, including when you happen to have a password in your paste buffer or some text from a confidential document, or a word which happens to also be a word for something not work-appropriate. It's also very confusing for the user as it results in pages pulling up for apparently no reason sometimes. Other distros (at least Ubuntu, haven't checked Fedora lately) already default this to false. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
